Welcome to The Zoo Society website. By accessing or using https://thezoosociety.org, making a donation, purchasing an Adopt-A-Species package, registering for an event, or otherwise engaging with our organization, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use our Site.

About The Zoo Society

The Zoo Society is a nonprofit organization that raises funds to support the mission of Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, including animal care, education, conservation, and community access initiatives.

All funds raised by The Zoo Society are used to advance this mission.

Use of Website

You agree to use this Site for lawful purposes only. You may not:

    • Use the Site in a way that violates any applicable laws or regulations

    • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or its systems

    • Use the Site to distribute harmful or misleading content

Donations

All donations made through The Zoo Society are:

    • Voluntary

    • Non-refundable

    • Used to support The Zoo Society’s mission unless otherwise specified

While The Zoo Society is a qualified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, The Zoo Society does not provide tax advice. Donors are responsible for evaluating the tax-deductible nature of their donation, including any valuation of in-kind gifts, and retaining all necessary receipts.

Adopt-A-Species Program

Adopt-A-Species purchases are symbolic adoptions and do not confer ownership or exclusive rights to any animal.

Each adoption package typically includes:

    • A plush animal

    • A personalized certificate

    • A species fact sheet

    • A photo of the animal (or species representative)

Details may vary by species and availability.

Shipping

    • Orders are typically processed within 2 business days.

    • Orders placed Thursday–Saturday may be processed the next business week.

    • Packages are shipped via USPS.

    • Estimated delivery is 2–5 business days (longer for AK, HI, or offshore destinations).

The Zoo Society is not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers.

Returns & Refunds

Because Adopt-A-Species purchases support nonprofit programming:

    • Purchases are generally non-refundable.

    • If an item arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact us and we will work to resolve the issue.

Events & Ticketing

Event tickets and registrations are:

    • Non-refundable unless otherwise stated

    • Transferable only if permitted by event guidelines

The Zoo Society reserves the right to:

    • Modify event details (date, location, programming)

    • Cancel or reschedule events if necessary

If an event is canceled by The Zoo Society, registered attendees will be notified regarding next steps.

Intellectual Property

All content on this Site — including text, images, graphics, logos, videos, and design elements — is the property of The Zoo Society or its partners unless otherwise noted.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or use content from this Site without written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use.
