The Zoo Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that raises funds exclusively to support Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium in Tacoma, WA. 

We raise essential funds to help care for over 350 species—from inquisitive octopuses to mighty muskox. This support also helps children across Pierce County access the zoo through scholarships, camps, and educational programs that ignite a lifelong love for nature.

Every sea otter plushie you receive helps a real sea otter (and many other animals!) at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium get care, toys, and fun activities that enrich their daily lives.

Like most nonprofits, we call this a symbolic adoption. So, while you can’t adopt an actual sea otter, you CAN adopt its cuddly counterpart and help the real one thrive!
